Chester Racecourse

Horse racing

Chester Races have become synonymous with Chester as a city, and rightly so given that we hold the country’s oldest racecourse!

The first recorded race was held on 9th February 1539 in the reign of Henry the Eighth, and ever since it has seen millions of dapper looking men and women with extravagant hats parading alongside the horses at some of the world’s most memorable Race Days.
