The Culinary Association of Wales (CAW) hasannounced its 2019 National Chef of Wales finalists, with the judging set totake place on 28th February. This year, three of our talented SousChefs have made it to the finals.
SamuelGriffiths (Sous Chef at the Michelin-starred Simon Radley at The ChesterGrosvenor kitchen), Matthew Ramsdale (Sous Chef at La Brasserie) and Arron Tye (Sous Chef at the Meetings andEvents kitchen), have demonstrated the talent, drive and calibre to compete forthe coveted national title.
Going head to head against 7 other semi-finalists,they each had three hours to cook a four-cover, three-course meal comprising of a vegetarian starter,main course using two different cuts of Welsh Beef and a dessert with chocolateas the main ingredient.
It isfantastic that three of our exceptional chefs from each area of the businesshave reached this stage of the competition. It’s a testament to Sam, Matt andArron’s calibre and provides them with the perfect platform to showcase theirskills. We wish them the very best of luck!
