Reporting to Restaurant Management, you’ll be charming, motivated and exceptionally well groomed, discreet yet with the sparkling personality that’s essential in engaging well with guests and the hotel team. We are recruiting for an outstanding Spa Therapist to join our award winning team. The SR Academy nurtures young talent by offering ten apprenticeship places each year. Commis Chef Apprenticeship

To ensure that we have dedicated apprentices that are the stars of the future, each apprentice that is short listed will be interviewed and selected by Simon personally to join his team.

You will have the chance to earn while you learn alongside talented and innovative chefs.

The Commis Chef Apprenticeship is open to anyone from school leavers to those simply looking for a change in career. No previous experience is necessary, all we ask is for lots of enthusiasm, team spirit and the drive to succeed!

The length of the programme is 15 to 18 months.Learners have achieved level one or two in maths and English or must attend extra support to enable successful completion of the course, working towards a pass or distinction grading.

A range of skills and behaviours will be developed throughout the programme, using a variety of approaches both in and out of the kitchen environment.

Culinary skills– craft preparation, cooking skills and techniques to prepare, produce and present dishes and menu items in line with the business requirements, your journey will enable you to build the foundations of knowledge and flourish.

Food Safety –this is of paramount importance! You will understand all food safety requirements and the law regarding this within the kitchen. You will expand your knowledge with the importance of allergens, safe systems of work and safe work practices.

Menus– working with some of the finest ingredients and local produce available, you will quickly learn how seasonality fits into availability, quality and price of ingredients.

Your bespoke training

-Offering a diverse and comprehensive apprenticeship, you will work 5 days across 7 within either the La Brasserie, Meetings & Events, Simon Radley or Pastry Kitchen.

-20% of your qualification will take place being mentored, shadowing and learning.

-Online profiles are set up to enable you to add photographs of your work, update your workbooks and build your portfolio as a commis chef at the same time as working towards completing your apprenticeship.

-Along your journey you will be undertaking professional discussions, multiple choice tests and culinary and practical observations to help you stay on track, with the final assessment called ‘ EPA’ which we will ensure you are competent and confident to complete.

Key Responsibilities

Our Demi Chef de Partie will work under the leadership of the Chef de Partie within our Meetings and Events kitchen. You will be nurtured to develop your skills working on a variety of sections within a professional environment. With excellent time management and communication skills you will be in tune with other sections, delivering your element of a dish to produce food in a high pressure environment.

You will be passionate about cookery and relish working within a fast paced environment. You will have creative flair and will be committed to expanding your existing skill set under the wings of the most professional chefs in hospitality. Our desirable candidate has charisma, character and thrives in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Part time opportunities are available for existing or aspiring Waiters, Waitresses and Bar Staff within our opulent meetings, events and private dining settings. Reporting to the Meetings and Events management team, you will assist in the set-up of events and delivery of food and beverage services to a high standard. Days and hours of work depend on the scheduling of events with the additional opportunity to work in other restaurants within the hotel.

Desirable Candidate

We're looking for someone with enthusiasm, immaculate personal presentation and a positive, outgoing personality. You'll be a terrific team player with a commitment to giving our guests a memorable experience. Previous experience would be helpful, however full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll join a busy team, responsible for delivering an exceptional guest service when carrying out cleaning tasks within guest bedrooms, guest areas and back of hotel facilities. During evening shifts you will offer a turndown service to in house guests.  Effective time management is required to turn around guest rooms and areas in line with check out/check in deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.

Desirable Candidate

Being friendly and courteous is part of your nature, along with having the drive to manage your time well. Our desired candidate is meticulous with a fine eye for detail and takes pride in their high standard of work. You will be trustworthy, well presented and professional at all times when interacting with guests and colleagues. Previous experience would be helpful, however full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable part time bartender for our La Brasserie Champagne and Cocktail Bar. La Brasserie is the real hub of The Chester Grosvenor and requires someone with experience working in a high volume operation.

You will aid in the seamless running of the bar and restaurant by providing a cheerful, confident and efficient service to our guests, with an observant eye for detail. We anticipate that you will have previously worked in a cocktail bar environment. You should possess a sound working knowledge on cocktails, wines and spirits with the ability to upsell and make suitable recommendations to guests. The position includes a range shift patterns including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Food and Beverage department at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel is on the hunt for new enthusiastic and passionate Room Service Team Member to provide our guests with excellent customer service within the In Room Dining Department.

Part time opportunities available.

You will be confident and efficient in the handling of orders and requests, you will partake in the seamless running of our 2 AA Rosette La Brasserie restaurant.

Liaising with the kitchen and bar teams, you will be an expert in conveying menu information to our guests.

Desirable Candidate

The guest experience is at the forefront of your mind. You will be confident and engaging in conversation, whilst maintaining the upmost professionalism. You will be precise, organised and an effective communicator who thrives in a busy environment. Restaurant experience is preferable but full training will be given. 

Key Responsibilities

A full time opportunity is available for a charismatic and confident candidate. 

You will ensure that all guest and third party reservations are taken, inputted and confirmed with efficiency, providing an exceptional and informed service with an awareness of rate strategy.  You will be responsible in supervising the reservations team, demonstrating commitment towards their productivity, performance and training.  Liaising with Front of House and Revenue Management you will ensure that your team transfer knowledge of hotel services, facilities and promotions to maximise business opportunities and revenue.

Desirable Candidate

Our desirable candidate must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in supervision.  You will have proven hotel revenue knowledge, preferably in a 4 Star property or above.  This position requires an understanding of procedures and consistent attention to detail.  Hotel reception experience is advantageous.
