Key Responsibilities

A full time opportunity is available for a charismatic and confident candidate. You will ensure that all guests are greeted with professionalism upon check in and departure and are provided with an exceptional and informed service for the duration of their stay. The Receptionist will liaise directly with several departments within the hotel to ensure that team work delivers a cherished hotel experience. Days and hours of work vary with a mixture of daytime and evening shifts.

Desirable Candidate

We are looking for candidate who can provide a warm welcome and easily strike up a natural conversation with our guests. If you believe in the quality of delivering a personalised and individual service rather than reading from a script then we would like to hear from you! Immaculate personal presentation is required along with a fantastic organisational and problem solving skill set. Our preferred Receptionist will have skills and experience with Opera systems however full training can be provided.

In the confident and efficient handling of orders and requests, you will partake in the seamless running of the 2 AA Rosette restaurant and delivery of a 5 Red Star service. Liaising with the kitchen and bar teams, you will be an expert in conveying menu information to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the La Brasserie team, the Host / Hostess will charismatically meet and greet all who enter our 2AA Rosette restaurant.  You will be responsible for administration tasks associated with bookings, menu planning and payments along with ensuring that a seamless service is delivered.  We are seeking a team player who can anticipate service requirements and assist the team with a variety of ad hoc duties when necessary.

Desirable Candidate

This is the perfect role for someone with a bright personality and who is highly organised yet thrives on variety within a busy and social environment.  You will be the eyes and ears of our team, always striving to connect with our guests, anticipate and correct gaps in service and act as a resourceful thinker.  Experience with ResDiary is preferred but not essential.

Commis Chef Apprenticeship

To ensure that we have dedicated apprentices that are the stars of the future, each apprentice that is short listed will be interviewed and selected by Simon personally to join his team.

You will have the chance to earn while you learn alongside talented and innovative chefs.

The Commis Chef Apprenticeship is open to anyone from school leavers to those simply looking for a change in career. No previous experience is necessary, all we ask is for lots of enthusiasm, team spirit and the drive to succeed!

The length of the programme is 15 to 18 months.Learners have achieved level one or two in maths and English or must attend extra support to enable successful completion of the course, working towards a pass or distinction grading.

A range of skills and behaviours will be developed throughout the programme, using a variety of approaches both in and out of the kitchen environment.

Culinary skills– craft preparation, cooking skills and techniques to prepare, produce and present dishes and menu items in line with the business requirements, your journey will enable you to build the foundations of knowledge and flourish.

Food Safety –this is of paramount importance! You will understand all food safety requirements and the law regarding this within the kitchen. You will expand your knowledge with the importance of allergens, safe systems of work and safe work practices.

Menus– working with some of the finest ingredients and local produce available, you will quickly learn how seasonality fits into availability, quality and price of ingredients.

Your bespoke training

-Offering a diverse and comprehensive apprenticeship, you will work 5 days across 7 within either the La Brasserie, Meetings & Events, Simon Radley or Pastry Kitchen.

-20% of your qualification will take place being mentored, shadowing and learning.

-Online profiles are set up to enable you to add photographs of your work, update your workbooks and build your portfolio as a commis chef at the same time as working towards completing your apprenticeship.

-Along your journey you will be undertaking professional discussions, multiple choice tests and culinary and practical observations to help you stay on track, with the final assessment called ‘ EPA’ which we will ensure you are competent and confident to complete.

Full time opportunities available, predominately 8:00am to 4:30pm and 8:30am to 5:00pm.

The Food and Beverage department at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and passionate Room Service Team Member to provide our guests with excellent customer service within the In Room Dining Department.

We have two exciting part time opportunities available in our Facilities team!

You will join our small team of maintenance specialists, who on a daily basis carry out general maintenance to the high standards required of a 5 red star hotel.

 

The successful candidates will be working a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings and be part of an on call rota.

Every day is different with the Facilities team being vital to the smooth operational running of the hotel and as part of the team, you will be at the beating heart of keeping the spectacular Chester Grosvenor Hotel in tip top condition. Desirable Candidate

The ideal candidates will be from a Hotel background or from a plant electrician apprenticeship, you will have a minimum a qualification of Domestic Electrical Installer City and guilds although a qualification at ONC/HNC would be desirable.

A working knowledge of HVAC (aircon systems) would also be an advantage.

We're looking to expand our existing Accounts team and are currently recruiting for a Cluster Accounts Assistant to work between The Chester Grosvenor and our sister hotel in Chester, following the recent acquisition of The Mill hotel into the Bespoke Hotel portfolio.

The Chester Grosvenor is located right in the heart of historic Chester, with an outstanding Michelin-starred restaurant, the vibrant La Brasserie, boutique spa and extensive meetings and events space.

The Mill Hotel and Spa is conveniently situated by Chester's picturesque canal side. The hotel is home to two individual restaurants, Canaletto and Rialto, the hotel also benefits from a on site spa and leisure club with pool.

The accounts team for both properties is based out of The Chester Grosvenor, the Cluster Accounts Assistant would be expected to work between the two sites.

The main responsibilities of this position would include daily banking and reconciliations, processing invoices, maintaining the purchase ledger and various other accounting procedures as required by the Financial Controller.

Desirable Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years accounting experience, ideally in a hotel environment.

Knowledge of Opera and Sage is an advantage.
