Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Rooms Operations Manager, the Night Manager will take responsibility for our night shift team, front office and duty management of our 5 Red Star hotel. Precision is required for auditing duties such as end of day reports, banking and statistics. You will maintain hotel safety and security as well as delivering high levels of customer care and hotel cleanliness. You will be trained to have excellent knowledge of front and back of house operations to provide an informed service to our guests. You will develop a close working relationship with all other departments. As a strong leader, you will effectively delegate tasks to the Assistant Night Manager, Night Porters and Night Cleaners.

Desirable Candidate

Being courteous yet confidently driven is part of your nature. As a manager you will be required to train, motivate, nurture and provide feedback to the night team to ensure that tasks are achieved in a timely manner. You will have a minimum of 2 year’s supervisory experience within a quality establishment. Experience with IT maintenance and Opera systems is advantageous. Key Responsibilities

You’ll join a busy team, responsible for delivering an exceptional guest service when carrying out cleaning tasks within guest bedrooms, guest areas and back of hotel facilities. Our morning shift starts from 7am, you will be responsible for cleaning communal areas or our Spa to prepare for the day ahead.  Our midshift team are responsible for cleaning the bedrooms following departures and we are looking for someone who can easily converse with our guests.  During evening shifts you will offer a turndown service to in house guests until 9pm.  Effective time management is required to turn around guest rooms and areas in line with check out/check in deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable full time bartender for our La Brasserie Champagne and Cocktail Bar. La Brasserie is the real hub of The Chester Grosvenor and requires someone with experience working in a high volume operation.

You will aid in the seamless running of the bar and restaurant by providing a cheerful, confident and efficient service to our guests, with an observant eye for detail. We anticipate that you will have previously worked in a cocktail bar environment. You should possess a sound working knowledge on cocktails, wines and spirits with the ability to upsell and make suitable recommendations to guests. The position includes a range shift patterns including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Part time opportunities are available for existing or aspiring Waiters, Waitresses and Bar Staff within our opulent meetings, events and private dining settings. Reporting to the Meetings and Events management team, you will assist in the set-up of events and delivery of food and beverage services to a high standard. Days and hours of work depend on the scheduling of events with the additional opportunity to work in other restaurants within the hotel.

The Housekeeping Linen Porter is a vital member of our Housekeeping team, responsible for ensuring the linen in the hotel is removed, cleaned, and stored accurately and neatly. Chef Apprenticeship

You will have the chance to earn while you learn alongside talented and innovative chefs.

The Production Chef L2 Apprenticeship is open to anyone from school leavers to those simply looking for a change in career. No previous experience is necessary, all we ask is for lots of enthusiasm, team spirit and the drive to succeed!

The length of the programme is 12 to 18 months. Learners will have achieved level one or two in maths and English or must attend extra support to enable successful completion of the course, working towards a pass or distinction grading.

A range of skills and behaviours will be developed throughout the programme, using a variety of approaches both in and out of the kitchen environment.

Culinary skills– craft preparation, cooking skills and techniques to prepare, produce and present dishes and menu items in line with the business requirements, your journey will enable you to build the foundations of knowledge and flourish.

Food Safety – this is of paramount importance! You will understand all food safety requirements and the law regarding this within the kitchen. You will expand your knowledge with the importance of allergens, safe systems of work and safe work practices.

Menus– working with some of the finest ingredients and local produce available, you will quickly learn how seasonality fits into availability, quality and price of ingredients.

Your bespoke training

  • Offering a diverse and comprehensive apprenticeship, you will work 5 days across 7 within either the La Brasserie, Meetings & Events, Simon Radley or Pastry Kitchen.
  • 20% of your qualification will take place being mentored, shadowing and learning.
  • Online profiles are set up to enable you to add photographs of your work, update your workbooks and build your portfolio as an Apprentice chef at the same time as working towards completing your apprenticeship.
  • Along your journey you will be undertaking professional discussions, multiple choice tests and culinary and practical observations to help you stay on track, with the final assessment called ‘ EPA’ which we will ensure you are competent and confident to complete.

Salary

£8,944.00 per annum for your first 12 months, after which you will be paid National minimum wage until completion of your apprenticeship.

The Chester Grosvenor, Chester's landmark city centre hotel, is looking to appoint a Front of House Link Porter (part time). In it's stunning location right in the heart of historic Chester, this iconic five red star hotel has been welcoming guests for more than 150 years and has earned its reputation for exceptional service. Reporting to the Front of House Manager, you'll help us to create that vital first impression for our guests with a warm greeting and a smooth arrival experience. You'll also be responsible for:

•Transporting luggage to guest rooms and back to their cars on departure, as directed by Reception or the Head Linkman.

•Accurately tagging and recording all luggage or items received from guests, issuing receipts as required.

•Keeping the Front of House area clean and tidy, undertaking any additional cleaning duties specified by Reception Manager or Manager on Duty.

•Valet parking guests' cars, and returning them to the front door prior to departure, therefore you must be aged 25+ with a full clean driving licence.
